Standard, Mundane Biography:
Inspired by The Beatles, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Wonder, Incubus, & Muse (in that order), J.E.L.L.i. is a one man band headed by Christopher Sauter, a Songwriting Multi-instrumentalist/ Vocalist Audio Engineer. Playing guitar since he was 10 years old and writing songs since then too, Chris has always felt a very strong and natural connection to all things musical.
Chris grew up with his parents musically raising him on The Beatles. "I am the Walrus" being one of the very first Beatles song he ever heard. Starting out on guitar in 1995 (inspired by Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins), he soon branched out to the bass, the piano, vocals and drums. This talent, in addition to his college education for Audio Engineering and owning his own recording studio, has given Chris the power to be a completely independent songwriter, musician, producer and audio engineer. Chris lives, writes and records in his own "Sunshine Studios" in NY.

Rich, Expressive Biography:
Hi. My name is Christopher Sauter. i live on an island, and while i don't know the name of my favorite color, i know it's somewhere in between green and blue. By day, i pretend to be a human being living in New York.. By night, i'm a musical entity called J.E.L.L.i. finding haven in the ears of people just like you. My heartbeat is a rhythm that i've been trying to notate my whole life, but can't quite get the swing down on paper.. When i create music, my mind is never in the same room as my body, it wanders away without my permission and i catch up later on.. When i'm sick, i turn to 80 's movies for consolation. 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' has consistently cured all my illnesses, from the common cold to vertigo. Tree Frogs tend to live around me; i don't mind. i sing them lullabies and they croak back in harmony.. The lighting of any particular room i parade into leaves a deep impression on me. If you turn a light off, after i'm familiar with it being on, or vice versa, i'm liable to hold a grudge against you, forever. Just play it safe and leave all the lights alone. ♥
i can't remember the first day of my life, and while that bugs me, it also inspires me to do all i can to make the last day of my life as memorable as possible. i plan on living till i'm 141 years old, and for the record, i want to clear the air here and now and state that the 'Rainbow' cookie is the champion of all cookies now known, or hereafter invented; & rivaled only by the "Leaf" cookie, both having conjunctively seduced me into delightful indulgence more times than i'm allowed to admit by United States law. (maybe Amsterdam would be different..?) i try and wake up exactly 8 hours after i fall asleep, and i firmly believe that 'laffy taffy' is a goddamn waste of jaw power.. Unexpectedly catching my reflection in a mirror brings my mojo to a screeching halt, reminding me that i'm still tethered to my body. You may have wondered why i haven't capitalize my 'i's by now.. it's because i don't do that..
i'm an eternal optimist, and i live my life with a glorious flare of unpredictable systematicness. i tend to invent words, and hold a special place in my heart for people who do the same. (Neologism).. i hate eating food with bones in it, they slow me down.. i sometimes have scattered episodes of surprise vertigo, but always keep a copy of 'Karate Kid' in my back pocket to quickly spin the world back into balance. i'm well aware of the magnificence contained in each and every moment of life; and i try to appreciate anything that falls within my field of vision at all times, including the sun, and especially the sky.. I'm terrified of zombies, and high heights make a specific part of my body tingle.. if you knew me privately, you'd know which part.. i'm also terrible at detecting sarcasm, and i've been duped & fallen victim to very funny jokes, many, many times..
i don't believe in unconditional following, and i don't believe in unconditional leadering. Yes, once again, i write the dictionary. i believe your truth is written within you. i also believe that you should let your mind wander, and follow it, as far as it will lead you. And i think this will be the last bit of my mildly fictional biography. I've already swiped 2 1/2 minutes of your life that I'll hold dear in a fishbowl underneath my bed, sprinkled in smiley face stickers and colored with tree sap and blueberry juice. i don't take your time for granted, and i thank you for spending these last few curious and loveable minutes with me. i also possess a definitive amount of vanity that i'm comfortable with. i love myself, and i love you too. Don't believe me? Just wait for next Valentine's day, when i show up at your door with an extra large box of Russell Stover "Coconut Clusters" and the Cadbury cream egg Bunny: Alive... ..don't ask questions.. it's the thought that counts..
